Moving a water heater to a new location in a home is a difficult task and requires significant planning and preparation.
The garage is unattached but connected to house by breezeway and attic access is above closet and could be accessed thru garage and breezeway just a thought it will take forever for the hot water to reach your sinks shower etc without some form of recirc point of use heater etc.
