Next scrub the rest of the tub using a sponge and soapy water. The lemon oil also forms a protective coating that helps stop water spots soap scum and minor stains. Using this give the inside of the tub a really good wipe down. Get yourself a nice large bucket 5 gallons and mix in it 2 gallons of water and cups of white vinegar.

Then let the mixture sit on the stains for 5 minutes before washing it away with hot water and dish soap. Add shine to your clean porcelain tub. Use a rag or soft sponge to scrub the porcelain and then rinse well with water. Stick it to the side of your tub.

Anyone who owns a porcelain tub would tell you that the worst part of having one is cleaning it. Dip the sponge in the solution scrub and repeat until you re satisfied. Get an old towel shirt or rag and dampen it. If it sticks to it you do not have a full porcelain tub you have a metal one with a porcelain enamel finish.

What to use for gentle weekly cleaning look for store bought cleansers that are marked safe for porcelain enamel or make your own by mixing a few tablespoons of dishwashing soap with about a gallon of hot water. Soak a non abrasive sponge in the baking soda ammonia solution and scrub the surface of your porcelain bathtub or sink paying particular attention to stained areas. Avoid rubbing the oil on the bottom of the tub because it can be quite slippery.
